That's a good question, How do we get back to "old school values"? Kevin, I was raised the same way as you. The difference was that my mother raised five children by herself. We respected All adults, came home from school did our homework and chores. On Sunday we went to church. I'm surprised no one stepped in to stop the graffiti. But it doesn't surprise me when the city promotes graffiti.Didn't they just have a graffiti party this past weekend in Heaven? Don't get me wrong, I encourage artistic expression. But the city is just encouraging graffiti to be splattered everywhere by supporting such events. The way I see it, the Mayor is trying to keep everyone happy and he can't.A skate park can be a skate park without all that mess. It makes the city look very, very Ghetto. I feel for the person that has to pay to clean up the graffiti from yesterday's vigil.

Kevin , You used the word "family" quite a bit in your post. For the hell of it i looked up the definition in Websters dictionary ...it says "it consists of a MAN -WOMAN and OFFSPRING as a social unit" . Somebody needs to dig up old man Webster and have him re-define the word (at least for Hartford) since this city is not capable of going back in time or going "Old School"... Hate to keep saying it, but the same community that holds vigils are the same people that ENABLE those lost to violence to live that lifestyle. I know where my kids are at night ,do they?
