And how many of those 18 victims were shot by law-abiding citizens with a carry permit and a registered weapon....?

I see that magazine was topped off well above 10 rounds, per CT state law....

The law abiding citizens that choose to arm themselves can't legally have more than 10 rounds in their magazines, yet knuckleheads like the one in this post don't feel the need to go along with it.

Oh wait, thats right.....cause laws never stopped any criminals before.....

I am deeply sorry for the unrelated issue, but when is someone going to properly facilitate that occonnor? He really needs some help. I try to avoid contact with him because he has no people skills and constantly talks about how he is going to take " revenge" on others at the dept . That term " revenge" has been used by him quite frequently in front of officers, and these actions should be raising red flags that maybe some intervention is needed. I only vent because most of the new officers are worried and dont want to make waves. I do appreciate your blog mr brookman.

When is this blog going to address the sex on duty matter at the now closed office on Bartholomew Street? I am told there is video? Will you FOI this or sweep it under the rug because he is your friend?

Kevin,
It seems you may have an agenda. Would you please provide the number "assault weapons" seized on the street in the past 5 years...
I will guess none as its hard to conceal a long gun of any type.
Would you please provide the number of Hartford residents killed by "assault weapons" in the last 5 years.
Your statement that the "new laws seem to be working well in the urban areas" is...wrong!!!!
How many rounds did that guy have in his magazine???

First off comment at 659, get your facts straight . First off it happened on maple ave approximately 5, yes five, years ago. There is no video or any proof that any relationship happened on duty. No proof of any wrong doing on duty. These are simple facts. All this mounts to is simple jelousy and hatred towards another officer. If you dislike him, why dont you be a man and approach unit 11 and discuse the matter as adults? Oh i forgot, you dislike him because he is not one of those paper officers that bows down to your greatness . He is a worker, he is dedicated, he is a little crazy at times, but he can be my backup any day of the week . Who really gives a rats ass if he relaxed with a very pretty lady friend. Dont hate him for that. What about ray bermudez on c squad? Do u hate him for his hands on community policing style also ? Not to mention the park st call girl officers.... Get your facts straight or have the common sense and man code to keep your pie hole shut . Far greater and more important issues burden this department. Sorry for the ranting kevin..

No problem for the rant, especially when the facts are what they are. To the best of my knowledge there are no videos and the situation is not as it appears. There was a photo, supposedly of the Officer in the Bartholomew Ave Office. It was claimed to contain proof of the Officer with alcohol open in the office. The picture is of such poor quality , unless you knew the officer, you probably wouldn't even be able to identify him. I have the picture, and yes I shared it with Chief Rovella and I don't think it showed any negative behavior. The pettiness and the childish behavior of officers wishing to discredit their fellow officers is sad, but I guess it goes with the territory. Your comments about the Officer are pretty accurate, but I doubt anyone would question his commitment to a fellow officer when needed , even it put his own well being in harms way. I am sure he appreciates your support.

The full back story that we have figured out on this picture and the whole police office Story is very interesting and only makes me feel sorry for someone that would go to such extremes to discredit someone else.
