I’m sure Senator Blumenthal was able to lend a lot of assistance due to his familiarity with this military aircraft from his tour in Vietnam.

Kevin your statement is right on. I was watching a live stream from NBC on my computer when Bloomie elbowed the guy speaking and gave the speel you mentioned. It's getting hard to watch him or his cohort Murphy as to which one is the bigger camera hog panderer. It's sad that these two keep getting re elected. They really only care about themselves and how many votes they can get. Using a unfortunate incident, such as the airplane crash to tell us all how important and wonderful he is was just wrong.

Ya know?! Low IQ commentary devoid of a framed argument is clinically irritating. Hmmm, 10:12am must be a typical Democrat.

AS PER 2:42 PM ,,,,When someone “SHOWS UP” for government assignments but is only there taking up space and not doing any meaningful work , that is called WASTING TAXPAYER MONEY !!! “As per” the military I witnessed many Hartford Fire Department “employees” who spent their ENTIRE careers “SHOWING UP” . I would rather have them chose a different path like Trump than come to the firehouse to read the paper,do crossword puzzles, watch tv,play video games and NOT GO INTO BURNING BUILDINGS ,EVER!!!,,see?that “showing up” thing doesn’t always cut the mustard , at least with me it seems....Lastly ,next time you comment don’t be afraid to speak Trump’s name,,,,, you spineless liberals crack me up!

Blumenthal has, on the record, framed his experience during the Vietnam War in a ‘half truth’ manner. He further made himself accountable by acknowledging he ‘misspoke’(ie- unintentional) rather than lie (intentional). That said, as a public official, it should behoove him to be honest about very sensitive subjects. War is no joke. Granted he made the sacrifice to serve but recognize your place during that time. Some were actually there and that makes a big deference.

Just on example and I’ll finish up.

The D-Day invasion happened June 6, 1944. That day only. Those who were there can say so. The invasion continued and if you landed in Normandy any day after 6/6/44 it was know as D-Day +1,+2 and so on. This reference is important. That first day WAS the blood bath. The moral of the story is some gave, some gave more and some gave all.

Now could the Senator say truthfully he served in Vietnam War or more accurately, during Vietnam War.

When stumping for support to civilians, his words may fly right over their heads. I’ll bet to someone who is, was or related to the enlisted, those words will be scrutinized.

That said, if were a politician, I wouldn't act so vicariously about my experiences that may effected some many people as well as the world as we know it.

Politically, only he knows the truth behind his choice of words , which I think could have been made better. He is no dummy.

Now when it comes this crash, he hopped on the regulatory bandwagon. I’m no Investigator but this plane has thousands of hours flight time under the control of professional pilots. I believe something freak happened but I’ll wait for the solution to the mystery .

What a sad and tragic day for the accident victims and their families. The Collings Foundation are bar none, of best and I’m sure they will continue their service to history.
