Tonight's network news led off with the arraignment of Cleveland's friendly neighborhood dungeonmaster via Puerto Rico--I figure he's a white Hispanic going forward--immediately followed by the feds' capture of a Dominican ATM phishing gang. These stories are probably far too anecdotal to be mentioned on Sunday's Meet The Press, or the Weekly Stephanopoulos (or even The Diane Rehm Show)

It's stunning what a difference twelve years have made. What mainstream medium today (let alone a left-wing one like NYRB) would view the effect of immigration on the welfare of current citizens as an object of legitimate concern?
