So tell me, Steve - what does it feel like to be a traitor?

Do you have a happy lilt to your voice today - a lighter gait - a shit-eating grin on your face?

Remember to tell that to the Obamajugend when they come to burn your house to the ground.

Not quite on the subject, but its interesting to see how few posts there have been here on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Anything going on that Steve should know about?

Yes, the Sing for Change video is horrifying. It's such a pity that both of these candidates can't be defeated. The best, most plausible (and it ain't very plausible!) scenario is, McCain somehow wins, maybe through some Obama gaff or Biden calls Palin a b1tch in the debate or something. McCain dies soon into his term and we're left with John Tyler and a bunch of halfway decent paleocon advisors. Amnesty gets thrown in the garbage, Social Security gets privatized (start by investing the surplus in precious metals and real estate??), there is some peace dividend in a late 2009 withdrawal from Land War In Asia (rhymes with "euthanasia"), Ben Bernanke falls under a bus....

Why do even bother with implausible stuff like this? It's called optimism, I guess.

No point gambling when you have a sure thing. Just too bad I can't figure out how to short sell Social Security.

Change?

Same old Democrat.

McCain is notorious for believing in luck with all the charms he carries around. I guess that Asian superstition rubbed off on him while he was over there...

As far as Bambi being a reader.... ew, Steve! The idea of him lurking here makes me recoil for some reason. Studying the enemy, I guess...

BTW, does anybody watching the McCain ad attacking Biden for criticizing Mexico, believe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Obama was elected and kicked the bucket? I vote pro-life and am conservative to the core, but I do find Biden to be a breath of fresh air in his own bumbling way.

Myt guess is that "Truth" is really Barack Obama letting off steam.

I might consider voting for OBAMA if he made affirmative action "quotas" illegal. Why don't we treat all people as individuals as MLK suggested?

Sorry to break it to you but you're not as influential as your coterie of readers here likes to think.

The poker playing Obama vs dice playing McCain meme has been around for a while. Here's June piece from the 'Telegraph.'

Notice on that Obamajugend video how quickly the comments were disabled - after 54 comments the contributor decided s/he'd had enough.

That's about how long it'll take for Obama supporters to shut down free speech after he's elected. These people are genuinely, honest-to-God creepy.

Steve, you seem to occasionally hold out the hope that Barrack has somehow matured out of his left wing roots. Watching Barrack for the full 90 minutes of the debate, my judgment from his general aspect was that he is a self-righteous, somewhat judgmental left-winger. Unfortunately, what we've seen so far is the poker face and not the cruel hand.

"Senator McCain says he wants to bring the same kind of deregulation to our health care system that he helped bring to our banking system"

If McCain actually said that, it's a shock - one of the candidates actually said something rational!

Or, as someone else pointed out on a previous thread, that 5 years of Chicom torture left John McCain phyiscally incapable of holding a deck of playing cards in the position required for poker.

And if you'd like a lesson in the odds of various craps plays, versus the odds of various poker hands and the resultant expected values given the number of poker players at the table, I'd be happy to give you a lesson.

Or [says the guy who reminded y'all that McCain can't even hold cards in the first place]: Maybe the whole idea of The Messiah as MIT renegade poker-playing genius was invented out of thin air, just like the idea of Yuri Andropov kicking back with his Jack Daniels and listening to old LPs of Coltrane and Gillespie.
