Basically confirms your analysis of Sterling as a deluded and set-up old man, pathetically clutching onto some strange woman for comfort, pretending to himself that she cares about/loves him. Sad. But not racist.

Johnson likely didn't delay Sterling in hopes of buying the team, but of ensuring that he and Team Racism dominated all the media cycles, w/o counter from Sterling. The usual monomedia.

He admits he is foolish, and that makes me emphathize, another geezer who got golddiggered. But he doesnt grok that it's not the age difference that doomed him, it's putting his psycho-spiritual eggs into the basket of some female he doesn't even really know, then figuring he can just buy his way into her 'love'.

This guy is eighty years old and a zillionaire, some kinda cunning businesscrafter, but when it comes to females, he's just another babe in the woods. Yikes dood get some religion.

Cheers.

Wow. He really likes the girl. She also said that in her heart she doesn't believe he is racist.

I don't understand why an eighty year old billionaire can't just tell everyone to fuck off and leave him alone. In other words, act in a dignified manner.

Of course, posterity is on his mind. Everyone can relate to this. But he wants to remembered as buffoon who desperately worked to re-ingratiate himself with the negroes who threw him under the bus. Dementia?

Or is this just normal in LA?

Who or what is this Stiviano person really? She's got a minor criminal record as a petty thief and has a DUI. How did she pay for her plastic surgeries while still in her teens? Through prostitution? What did she think she was doing by taping Sterling for all those hours?Quotes of hers, carried by the DMail, make her sound very strange and downright coo-coo. She's adopted two special needs black children. Are there any criteria for becoming an adoptive parent or can anyone just walk in and take home some children? This low rent grifter lucks out and latches onto a weak minded billionaire who gives her a home and luxury cars, things she could never otherwise afford, then turns around and bites the hand that's been feeding her. Without him she'd be working at some escort service and eventually end up on the welfare rolls. Gratitude, what's that?

Brilliant strategy. He isn't trying to change anyone's mind. He is trying to give plausible deniability to the NFL owners to let him keep the team.

But if he is going to play "weak-willed elderly man" he cannot simultaneously wield a stick and make threats.

So that is where his wife comes in. SHE does the threatening and he is just a chump.

It was a great move waiting for the Narrative to firm up and seeing where each of the players was aligned before making any statements. This permitted the Sterlings to plan a strategy and now roll it out carefully.

I expect he may remain banned. But in six months no one is going to care if he piddles around with the Clippers or not: the one-minute hate will be done.

Yeah, I don't get that either. What's the point of having a billion dollars if you're going to grovel like this? Heck, the poor 80-year-old men I've known wouldn't suck up like this; they'd tell the newshounds to get the hell off their lawn, possibly while holding a shotgun.

This is something that seems like it should be a big story (not about her, but in general), but I haven't seen anyone talk about it. It wasn't that long ago that adoptive parents had to show that they could provide a stable two-parent home, enough wealth that the kid wouldn't want for much, a list of references, etc. Now it seems like anyone can adopt, as long as he's willing to take special needs kids.

My first, completely unsubstantiated guess is that they had to drop a lot of the restrictions to allow homosexuals to adopt. But it'd be interesting to see someone research it and really find out.

Because people like him created a PC religion to help them displace the previous elite and now the Frankenstein's monster they created is turning on them.

It's all about social status seeking, not money. Even an 80 year old billionaire can aspire to higher social status.

Magic has instigated this complex skulduggery for only one purpose: gaining enough leverage to force some network to bring back The Magic Hour.

Magic believed that black entertainers were kept off of the show by their agents. The latest imbroglio with Sterling is Magic's racial revenge, 16 years later.

I miss all 7 of those shows.

Sounds like Magic counseled Sterling to stay mum so he could get the jump on him in the media.

Best part of the interview: "Did you ever like a girl…" –Sterling to Cooper. Lol

Donald makes at least one good point - why are people looking up to Earvin Johnson? What has this semi-literate ever done in his life besides successfully bounce a basketball? And get HIV I suppose. A grown man who goes around calling himself Magic? Ridiculous.

Who cares if he is racist? People should concern themselves with discrimination (i.e. actions), not racism (i.e. thoughts). Especially since the term "racism" is so malleable as to be meaningless.

Steve is right - this whole ridiculous Tokowitz controversy is the gift that keeps on giving.

Pro Tip:

Being played the fool by a 30-something street girl that looks like an *androgynous* Angeles City bargirl ain't the way to do it.

Don't think it primarily was social status that motivated sterling in this, but primal neediness, emotional and psychological, projected onto the nearest female that seemed to offer comfort. Stiviano's borderline skankiness makes his bond all the more pitiful.

Money has nothing to do with it. Many modern men cannot function without the presence and attentions of a female or females on a daily basis. This is especially common concerning leftie males. That is not healthy. Guess there was a reason most aboriginal people separated boys from females for awhile.

According to American Values, here's Tycoon Sterling, who rose to the pinnacle of "making it" and yet, the shallowness of U.S. masculinity is clear in this travesty. I dunno whose version of American Male Success is worse, his or Earvin Johnson's.

Cheers.
