The picture is funny. I have noticed how when you watch the news on the Spanish channels, they have a guy with red hair, a woman with blond hair- and a black guy. Not many people on Mexican TV actually look like Mexicans. There is a blond woman in one of the recent novelas born in Ukraine. Another blond you see frequently was born in Iowa. Whereever they're from they do know how to pick the babes though.

"Basically, the American media finds Mexico to be various combinations of comic, boring, depressing, and horrifying."

Steve, I'm glad you're back in form again. Today I could laugh. Yesterday your posts sounded angry. I can understand why, but your strength has always been the combination of sharp dissection of the MSM nonsense coupled with humour. Let’s face it: Us conservatives have been royally screwed. At least we can sit back now, sip tee and enjoy the show with iSteve humour.

Slim does look Mexican. I didn't know that he was Arab when I first saw a picture of him.

As for the NYT, well...who cares? I know I don't. Let them sell themselves off to the highest bidder if they want to. It will finally reveal what bullshit their "moral high ground" position on things really is.

Maybe Mr Slim is plotting a political takeover of the Northeast power structure.

Maybe Slim reads the Cantarel oil field endgame as a trigger for Mexican civil war and so he's laying the groundwork at the NYT for a mass transfer of say 30 million Mexican wartime refugees into New England and upstate New York and maybe New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Please God let 30 million Mexicans flood into the Northeast. Let the Ivy League and Yankee hypocrites be swamped right up to their necks in their precious diversity.

And send another 30 million to the Washington and Oregon coast. Diversity is strength.

Conservatives have not been royally screwed, we have royally screwed up. Conservatism in the 00's was Tom Delay shoveling out money and George W. Bush pushing illegal immigration. Until we can give the voters something better they will be worshipping Obama.

"Conservatives have not been royally screwed, we have royally screwed up."

Point taken. But then Delay and Bush were never classical conservatives. As has been sed often before, the GOP primary structure is rigged.

The Northeast is already swamped in diversity.

Lebanese Christians do not usually consider themselves Arab. They usually have a "Levantine identity" with a "western looking heritage."

Wait second, headache (I had one 'o you dis mornin'), how is the primary structure rigged? Sounds plausible, given the MSM's love of using neocons to do the left's dirty work so that everything can be blamed on the right, but I don't know how the primary structure was manipulated to have a pro-neocon bias. Please help.

Blode032222,
I'm not American so my knowledge is based on what I read. Brimelow explained in more detail how the GOP made sure only Neocons would come through the primaries process. That's why McCain came from nowhere and got the nomination and Paul was railroaded. You'd have to check that up.

PS: I hope you're not "Truth" in disguise? Then this will never end.
