I think that refugee status or asylum operates similarly to the way that you suggest ticket sales do.

There are a limited number of tickets to a show or spots for political asylum. Nominally there is a fair system to distribute these "slots." First come, first served for tickets; strength of the case for refugees.

In reality though we know that a high percentage of available tickets are "skimmed" by venue owners, employees, promoters, etc.

Similarly, a significant portion of asylum slots are "skimmed" by the CIA, State Dept or other entities to be given out as favors or rewards to locals who want to come to the US.

It isn't that complicated. It is only problematic if you imagine that you need to be a political asylee to obtain "political asylum."

Ramzan Kadyrov travels in a motorcade that completely dwarfs Obama's.

Black cars with flashing headlights?

I'd want one of those with the flashing lights on top.

Just sayin'.

Those that have the most influence, get the most favors. There's nothing new under the sun when it comes to human politics.

The only people who want to do the minimal amount of digging necessary to learn anything about Todashev's background are conspiracy theorists with their amazing knack for getting things wrong

Self-deprecating sarcasm?

I don't get it.

Conspiracy theorists are the only people these days who are getting anything RIGHT!

Please tell me that that was an attempt at humor - poking fun at yourself, and at us.

'Cause I'm at the point now where I don't trust anyone who is NOT a conspiracy theorist.

Seems Todashev took a shot to the back of the head during or after his altercation with the KGB errr, FBI.

For fun, here's something that a developing Todashev might've enjoyed. This is old, but it's important:

Old stuff.

4ernii bumer = Black beemer (BMW). The big shots used to have a special lane, kind of like our US HOV lanes, and to drive in the best lane one needed a blue dashboard light. Big Pres. P used to do that, but he flies by helicopter now.

Steve, the refugee system works just fine. To destroy traditional American communities with "diversity." Once you understand that Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, and all the rest want that as what they view as a positive good, everything is clear.

The question I have, were the Chechen dudes connected to Putin either brought into Jihadi circles for that, and their parents complained to Putin, hence Russian warning "hey these guys are Jihadis, don't let them in the US" or was this a Putin plot to end any aid to the Syrian rebels or something else.

It is a bit odd that minor princes of connected guys end up Jihadis, but then that described bin Laden.

Don't worry, Steve. I hear that A Working Class American is focusing on it "like a laser" and wondering when we'll address the "GOP sellout."

So we've got that going for us.

The USA cannot act on some Russian intelligence about terrorists, because it would not be "nice."
