That number
seems
high to me. I really can't say, but it just feels excessive. But if you cut it in half to "only" 300,000, would I feel all that dubious? Probably not.
Here's the bottom line: I doubt that the Iraqi death toll has reached 600,000 ...
yet
. But the odds are awfully high that, sooner or later, it will.
