tangents, tangents, tangents..

your review was long winded and full of tangents..

racial profiling has nothing to do with first impressions.. its an IDEA of a race, not based off of first impressions.

and not only that, "Blink" wasn't referring to when you meet people in a social setting, it was referring to your own self, your own mind, your own intuition.

relate racial profiling and intuitive repulsion..

relate it..

wow...just came across this in passing and the lack of logic as well as knowledge in this piece leads me to believe it was some cathartic stream of consciousness rant. The implications are also quite troubling and, frankly, ignorant.

I'll concede that the bulldog analogy was indeed weak...but its clear your overarching theme here is that blacks may be predisposed to violence in a similar manner as bulldogs are, via evolution. This is BS and you know it.

In many sub-saharan african nations, violent crimes are much lower than they are here. The rates of crime in other developed nations with regards to blacks is lower than that of whites here...This is a direct contradiction of your conclusion. It is dangerous to stereotype about a race...especially when you use a sample that is less than 10% of its population

Wow...tangents for sure! I can across this tangent-ridden article about...? while searching for legitimate book reviews. Serious question: Did you actually read Blink? I just finished it and it seems as though you did not actually read the book...

"In many sub-saharan african nations, violent crimes are much lower than they are here."

Really? Which ones?

"The rates of crime in other developed nations with regards to blacks is lower than that of whites here"

Again, which ones? I'm genuinely curious.

With pit bulls there is no room for error. None. They have immense jaw strength and are extremely tenacious. I once saw a photo essay wherein a pit bull who belonged to a homeless person who lived at a park, would jump up and grab onto a tree branch and hang from it for hours. During dog fights, pit bulls sometimes will fall asleep still attached to each other, wake up and continue fighting. I read of a large African-American guy, at the turn of the century, who, basically, hammer threw 2 dogs who were attached by their mouths, to try and get them to release each other, and though he flung them a good long way, they remained attached. Those factors are enough to exclude pit bulls from making good family pets. Dogs are naturally jealous creatures. I would not want one competing for food or attention with a child of mine.
