Ayahs of the Day:

Guidance of the Day:
The concept of pure love that gives without taking sounds simple, but its practice is not easy. Few of us are strong enough to give without expectations. But real love comes without strings attached. And it is only real love that is given without expectations. Indeed, if we love with any expectation whatsoever, we eventually are disappointed, for it's quite improbable that anyone is able to meet all our needs, regardless of the strength of his or her love or devotion.

Expecting something from others as our "right" is a prescription for unhappiness. Perhaps we can never totally surrender our wants, but to the extent to which we can live without demands or expectations of others is the extent to which we are free from disillusionment and disappointment. Others give us only what they are able to, not necessarily what we desire them to give. When we cease placing conditions on love, we take a giant step toward learning to love. An excellent way to begin is by taking loving chances. Consciously choose to participate actively in love and, most important, trust that you are capable of changing. [Handbook for the Heart]

Food for Thought:
There is no knowledge that is not power. Most powerful is he who has himself in his own power. Power will intoxicate the best hearts, as wine the strongest heads. No man is wise enough, nor good enough to be trusted with unlimited power.
