Guidance of the Day: Among those things that bring about forgetfulness are wrong doings, harboring worries and anxieties over worldly matters, and being distracted by many occupations and attachments. Worldly anxieties create darkness in the heart, but concern for the Hereafter brings light into the heart. This light becomes apparent through prayer.
Anxiety for worldly affairs impedes one from doing good, while concern for the Hereafter incites one to do good, as does occupying oneself with prayer in a spirit of humility and presence of mind. [Imam al Zarnuji----------The Method of Learning]
