Guidance of the Day: The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them. Living based on a purpose is life-affirming and renewing. A purpose can help us find the courage to go on, no matter what the problems we confront, and the courage to combat despair and discouragement.

Any new step-----a new commitment, goal, hobby, friend, plan, or interest-----can make a difference and can reawaken us to a purposeful living apart from our pain. Food for Thought: Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. He that composes himself is wiser than he that composes a book. He that won't be counseled can't be helped.
