I agree with much of what you wrote here, especially considering "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia." I think it is a masterwork and easily one of the Top 10 (top 5?) films of 2011. The cinematography, which was instrumental to the mood of this film, is outstanding.

Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo, who directed "Miss Bala" told me in Chicago that "Anatolia" was the visually most impressive film he had seen at the Chicago Film Festival.
