Great examination of a truly fine film by Frankenheimer and an undervalued performance by Rock Hudson.

Tony: Excellent review of a wonderful film that is vastly underrated. It's almost hard to believe this film was made in 1966, as it's daring and far ahead of its time.

This film asks difficult questions, for which it doesn't always have answers. Yes, it demands to be seen a second and even third time.

Great casting, from Rock Hudson as the lead down to Jeff Corey as one of the company men.

I love the unaesiness of the scene between Wilson and Emily at her house. The dialogue combined with the perfomances and Frankenheimer's direction are dreamlike (or nightmarish, if you will).

And yes, Jerry Goldsmith's score along with Howe's masterful cinematography top off the edgy, other worldly mood to the film.
