Indeed Tony. This is the most celebrated of blu-ray releases, and deservedly so. PLAYTIME is a visual treat, in it's examination of what you rightfully refer here as showcasing a "preoccupation with the effect of encroaching modernity on a romanticized past. I see this film as an architectural surrealist homage to Paris's shapes and set design, and this is a reason blu-ray was created.

Marvelous review of a timeless work of French cinema, it's iconic figures's greatest film.
