It's not that great. The ride system is fine, but the focal point of the film itself is set too high up the screen.
It's also incredibly expensive.
The best part is the pre show.

If you're tired of waiting for a new Soarin' movie AND live near the west canada border then you might be interested to do a jump to Vancouver and experiment another Soarin' experience called "FlyOver Canada". Although not done by Disney this 5D movie including wind, mist with different smells, and a similar simulation system than Soarin' over California ( although the theater looks smaller ) looks great and takes you for a flight over Canada from East coast to West coast.
