Favourite: Form plankton-feeding aggregations 1-3m above substrate; males erect dorsal fin during courtship. Hide-out: Upper edge of steep slopes to 15m. Location: East Indo-Pacific - Christmas I. to Line Is. in eastern Central Pacific. S.W. Japan and Micronesia to Great Barrier Reef.
