You thought I was writing a Star Wars-themed post, didn't you? Nope, for #TBTV we're celebrating the late, great Dave Brubeck and his Quartet: alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright, and drummer Joe Morello for this recording. "Take Five", like many of Brubeck's compositions, employed an unusual time signature—in this case, 5/4. Wherever Brubeck is, may the force be with him. Hat tip to my buddy Andy Scott, guitarist for The Garnet Hearts Trio, for reminding me of this gem.
