You know I read this interview along time ago and here it is again it resurfaces. Woa. I have asked a friend at NVS to have a lot at it again. thinking of having feminism 101 (do not laugh) might be useful after all we are all reading True Love.It might come in handy. Must confess, as a student in London yonks ago sat with Amina as Trustees to Akina Mama wa Africa. Long time ago. Nice reading this again.

Amina Mama is fantastic. She gave a keynote address at the African Studies Association Conference in San Francisco last year, and I loved her insistence that "African Studies" must be centred on the continent, done in collaboration with those living and working IN Africa. That is, the focus should be in empowering those academics already in Africa.

This is an excellent interview. And it provides a kind of rejoiner to the discussion about TL. Never heard of this woman, but she definitely makes me want to call myself a feminist and the need for doing so.

thanks for this interview.
