I can totally relate. That happened to my cousin.. and the depression that followed took yrs of her youth. It's tough having to sit on the sidelines not knowing what to say and only offering reminders that she is loved. Then you hear the stories of kids who consider suicide and the person who stopped them. Most of the time that person had no idea of the impact they made...cause all they did was give them some time. Precious, precious time. U never know.. But never give up!
This may be kinda late, but maybe all points should be hit when dealing with such a delicate subject. I believe wholeheartedly in what Evo said. A kind ear will do wonders for a grieving soul but somehow, someway the truth about suicide should be expressed to her. Our families/community and especially the youth has been torn to shreds with grief for Deedee and Willie boy and I don't think it was fair for those left behind.

There's this girl. A teenage girl.
She lost her boyfriend through a terrible tragedy.
She wrote on her boyfriend's Facebook page that she misses him and that she can't wait to see him again and that maybe, it will be sooner than later.
What is she trying to say?
What should I say to her?
Should I say anything?
I wish I could help her through her pain.

I don't know what it's like to lose someone you love "like that" to a tragic event. Especially as a teenager... when emotions are running high and everything is a dramatic production... think Romeo and Juliet. But I do know that wallowing in the sadness of it is not a way to live.

Its so scary being on the outside looking in....
