I totally agree with your response. I never even thought about the fact that the pledge says republic not democracy. The fact of the matter is I don't hold the pledge or the founding fathers in high regard anyway. I am a grown woman now, but I can remember refusing to recite the pledge in school because I never felt it really applied to me as a Black person. Good for you.

It amazes me how some of the most vocal people are the most challenged in regard to historical facts that directly relate to them. With that said, the man who keeps responding to you will have a hard to time grasping your message, because the mistruths that he holds dearly as his truths are holding him back from reality.
