I sat both my boys down, when they came home from school and made them sit still and listen to every word of THE speech. You're listening to history boys! My 10 year old was pretty moved but then said, "thank goodness, someone who can pronounce 'nuclear'. A-M xx
It may be positive for some of you but for those of us who are going to have to pay for all the new taxes and the loss of jobs to support all the welfare programs that are coming our way it was not such a great day...
So...if I'm not pro Ombama and I don't agree with your politics I'm not wecome here? Ok - I'm gone. I thought all thoughts were welcome. I guess if we don't agree with you we're not welcome. I wish you all the best and I hope you all have a lot of money so you can "spread the wealth...".
I cried last night and again when I watched his speech on the computer this morning. I haven't felt this positive about politics in a long time - maybe ever.
BTW - Stop by my blog when you can, there's a tille something there for you.

I love your post! Last night was truly amazing...I'm impatiently awaiting the days and years to come thanks to this wonderful man we are so privileged to call our President! I was thinking last night about how previous generations felt when Kennedy came into office. They had their doubts at first because of his religious practice, but thankfully the country looked beyond that, and it is no longer an issue. We have an African American President and a Catholic Vice President. I look forward to the day when race, religion don't matter and we are just people :)
I woke up yesterday morning dreaming about his campaign and his speech! Amazing. I looked like I had a cold too, because I cried so much the night before! It's so exciting!
I cried too, which is strange for me, because politics never moves me - which seems to be the MO of my generation, unfortunately. This is the first time in my lifetime (also in my opinion) we have a president who represents something more than the "lesser evil."
I cried during the speech last night. And people were driving down Main Street honking and shouting from 11:30 to about 1 am. And then when I came in to work this morning there were people re-watching the speech on cnn.com and I got to get all teary again. I don't think there has been a positive collective moment like this for a generation. I imagine this is what it felt like when Kennedy was elected.

I sat down and had a huge sob when CNN called the election for Obama. It's just been so bad for so long.
But no more.
