That`s my favorite song by the Police :) Wow,I agree. They could have put two small chairs there with a side table and it would have looked a million times better.

Note how neither sofa is facing the TV or the fireplace. And eeeww, check out the short drapes!
Penny - it looks like they ran out of fabric after they made the hideous valance.
Raina - Shockingly, it is NOT in a retirement community. It's one of the few new developments around here that isn't "55+ only". If you click on the link in the caption yo can see the slideshow - not much of one, it appears there are lots of seating areas, a garage and no bedrooms.
Eeeeek, that's ugly! "Staging" homes is a trend we can only hope will die with the deflated real estate bubble. They remove all the personality from a place and turn it into a generic Marriot Suite. And those curtains! Looks like someone lopped them off with a giant pair of shears.

[Image]{photo by Steve Lakatos in the Hartford Courant} This photo was on the front of the real estate section of Friday's paper. It's a model home, which means it was staged, which means you'd think someone would know better.

I would also mention, as a possessor of hideous drapes, that those drapes are hideous.
The Bods ran straight to your door this morning!
