Even in the cities it's sometimes hard to find ingredients, although I do have access to a big Asian grocery. Even they don't always have stuff! So glad you posted this as it looks delicious. I hate fish, but I don't mind fish sauce as long as there isn't too much of it in a dish. If I find it too fishy on the first go-around I'll just reduce it on the second, which never seems to ruin the dish. Thanks for inspiring me to cook something new and exotic, and to see if I can figure out what "tofu puffs" are! Love your blog and I've liked everything I've ever tried from it.

Mihaela, It's amazing what a sense of satisfaction I get when I try a new dish...I sometimes feel like I've climbed Mount Everest:)! Glad you like it...

Jane, Aww...so sweet of you to take the time to comment. It means a TON that you like the recipes you've tried from my blog! Made my day:).... And I am thrilled that I've inspired you to make something new.

You are so right about the fish sauce, I found out that it isn't that bad:)...and I like your thought on adjusting the fish sauce to taste...I think that's a mark of a great cook:)! Some folks tend to skip a recipe altogether when they see an ingredient they might not care for...but many recipes can be adjusted to taste...and with ingredients that are available... as in my case....no tofu puffs, but shitakes:). Sure it might not be the same, but it's still close enough:)...
Maybe your local Asian store might carry the tofu puffs...The link to userealbutter is helpful in that you can see what the puffs should look like.
Again, thanks for stopping by.

Speranta, Multumesc mult! Ma bucur tare mult ca iti place...intradevar este o supa care arata diferita decat supele romanesti, dar este chiar delicioasa:).

Multumesc pentru vizita, si iti doresc si tie o zi minunata.
