Orange, coconut, amonds and chocolate sound like too much of a mix for me. I would be tempted to replace the coconut with the same amount of almond meal in order to keep the combination orange-chocolate as soloist for this cake. I will definitely give it a try.

Megi, Thank you for the inspiration:)!

Alina, So sweet of you, hope you have a wonderful day:)! Thanks for your cheery comment:)

Denise, You might want to try Nigella's original recipe if you don't like the addition of coconut...though the coconut goes wonderfully well with the nutty almonds... and you probably wouldn't even know it's there:).
In any case, I would love to hear how your version goes...I am hoping you will like it. Thanks for stopping by...appreciate it.

Reteta-Ina. Thank you...and have a really nice day:)!

Mihaela, Thank you, so sweet of you. Have a lovely day!

Hi, I know it's been a long time since you posted this recipe but I thought you might like to know that you can very successfully boil the oranges in a microwave by placing in a large bowl of water (almost covering them), cover with cling wrap and microwave on high for about 10 mins. Leave to cool a bit before removing the cling wrap just in case the boiling water splashes up.

Toni, I am so glad you stopped by. And I really appreciate you sharing the great tip... Great to hear that you can cook the oranges in the microwave. A great time saver! I'm assuming you need to prick or cut the oranges so they don't explode? But what a great tip to use when in a hurry:).

Thanks for stopping by and sharing... I really appreciate it!
