Well.

I do believe I just wet my pants.

Whether it's from the funnies of the post or the desire for the ice cream, I'll leave for y'all to imagine.

Jesus, I shouldn't comment this late at night after a tumbler of H1 vodka.

Having lived around the corner from Bi-Rite for the first seven years of its existence, I too can attest to its charms and the rampant fucktardery one must endure. I think we spent about 60% of our net income there. (And oh, do you remember Mom's Pear Skillet Cake? Oh. My. God.) I will say this much -- they did manage to reorganize the store to improve the flow and alleviate the serious clusterfuck that would happen when the checkout lines overlapped the deli case.

Half of me is sad they waited until we moved before opening the creamery; the other half is maintaining his waistline as best as he can. I've been dying to get to BRC. Soon .... very soooooon ...

You are the best.

I have been loving Anne Walker's sweets since 42 Degrees. I even followed her to Tartine for the 5 minutes she was there. (That block is very very small!)

Funny you should talk about your face in the ice cream. I once saved a heroin addict (they tend to crave sugar) from drowning in his sundae at Steve's in NY. It's a good thing ice cream is thick enough to make a very loud gurgling sound.

Aaaagh! I can't believe I was just a block away from this place and didn't know it existed! For a while I was confused and thought the market and the creamery were the same place, but now I think I get it - the Creamery is separate but closeby. This post is hilarious, btw. P.S. - I would love to meet up when we come up in August if it works out!

Thank you for writing about this place right before I went to SF. The salted caramel was the perfect dessert after dinner at Delfina (following another one of your recs). Though typical of San Francisco, it was gorgeous and sunny before we went to dinner, perfect ice cream weather, but then we came out and it was cold and foggy. Still ate lots of ice cream though :)

They have the best lemon icecream as well. I moved here two months ago and my waist which was quite "healthy" before has now become healthier !!!

If you haven't already, try their Brown Butter Pecan. So damn magnificent you'll forget about the perfection of the salted caramel. My husband ust brought home a pint of the BBP and it's taking all of my self control not to finish it in one sitting.
