c'mon....it's close to 200 per person at Manresa.....and TK has it goin on over DK anyday. I think it's definitely appropriate to enjoy expensive meals every few weeks. It's how we gauge just how bad alot of dining experiences can really be.
Brenda -- last I checked, Manresa was $105 per person for the tasting menu. That's a far cry from $200 (but as Robert said, the $210 includes the service charge -- still, Manresa is less even when you factor in the tip).
$210 is a disgusting amount of money even with a service charge. Yes, the food is out-of-this-world, but I'm lucky enough to have been twice, and for $210 I can have a lot of meals at a lot of other truly fine restaurants (Gary Danko, Manresa, Cyrus...) I don't think I'll be going back to TFL any time soon. (Unless of course my future ex-husband wants to take me. Now that is another story.)

F.L and P.Se are SO out of my league. 210 dollars for dinner, that's like Giraffe Money.
I just ate at French Laundry and yes it was 210 not including drinks. So after we were all finished the total for 4 was about 2k. The food was amazing but I think I was sick at the end!

I just took a look at the French Laundry page and it appears that all tasting menus at both the French Laundry and Per Se are now $210 DOLLARS. PER PERSON. Jesus Christ!
I found this out while looking for Per Se info for a possible trip to NYC this summer. In other words, I'm considering spending more on the meal than on the plane ticket. I think I just got so disgusted with myself that I might actually vomit. Hungry, anyone?
Now, we all know that I think Thomas Keller is a genius. I mean, in my world he's practically a deity. But $210 fucking dollars? That's just flat out ass rape right there. Especially when you consider that it was still at $175 a person when I ate there in November.
You want to know the really sick thing? I'd probably WOULD still save all my pennies just so I could pay that much to eat there. It's jerkwads like me that allow shit like this to happen. Damn!
I keep telling you people that I have a problem. I need that intervention and I need it now.

The price has not raised. Just the service charge is included on the site. Previously it was not.
