Cozmos. Hands and legs down one of the best meals I've had outside SF in ages. HIGHLY recommend it. And if you care what F&W think, they named him Best New chef (or whatever) this year. Or maybe it was Gourmet. Anyway, this is the one meal I'd want to have again in Minn.

Just read anonymous, and I back up Lucia's, but if you go to MN every year I'm sure you've eaten there before.

Just moved to SF from Minne a few months ago.....do NOT miss 112 Eatery. Make a reservation now. Seriously. Vincent - worked with him years ago - he is fantastic, the restaurant a bit stiff, try eating at the bar. Lucia's - always amazing - my friend just helped her open a fantastic take-out cafe attached to the wine bar - gorgeous roast chicken to take home. Five is new and very ambitious. In Uptown. Pane Vino Dolce and Cave Vin are sister restaurants in South Minneapolis - both quaint, noisy, charming neighborhood places, only open for dinner. Enjoy the vibe in Minneapolis and try not to freeze!
Cat -- How funny! Jon and I are spending our last two nights sans family and we are staying at the Graves 601 where Cozmos is!
Anonymous deux -- I've heard good things about 112. Can you believe I've never been to Lucia's? We don't often get time alone in the city to do as we please...

Check out Dara Moskowitz at City Pages . She's an engaging food writer who knows the Twin Cities food scene quite well.

Hey! We're heading home to Minneapolis too. Haven't been back during frozen tundra season for some time.
Oh, anonymous, you have no idea. I know very well what lutefisk is as it is served at every Christmas eve dinner we've had in Minnesota.
I will not touch it with a ten foot pole.

In a few short days, I am off to Minnesota. As you might recall, Jon and I spend every Christmas in the coldest fucking place on earth. I'm a really good daughter-in-law.
But I need your help. Because fuck me if I have any idea where to eat there this year. I usually visit epicurious for a little advice, but they just decided to leave the twin cities out in their reviews this year. Not a good sign, my friends, not a good sign.
Any and all advice is welcome. And anyone that wants to pack for me is welcome, too.
xoxo Joy

I'd second Lucia's. Great great place.

OK, kids. I have reservations for 112 and Lucia's and I'm going to play the lunches by ear. Thanks for all the great advice!

Maybe you can report on eating that local Minnesota delicacy - lutefisk. It's cod cured in lye.
