We heart you, Restaurant Whore!

And, like Sam, I also still smell of smoke.

I have now showered 2x since last night and I STILL smell of BBQ--but it brings back memories of great pork lovin'!

Smelling of smoke reminds me of smores and camp.

Although I did not get to taste everything I will say that I am eating the oatmeal choc-chip cookies right now and they taste better today! (I had some of my pie for breakfast.)

Might the person who made them share the recipe?

But of course! You can find the recipe here: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/105431

I've been making them for a few years and I've found that lowering the oven temp about 25 degrees helps; My convection oven does this anyway, but I did it with my old oven, too. I also find that 15 minutes of cooking time is more than enough, but I make my cookies smaller than they suggest.

I omit the almonds -- I think they clutter up the whole deal, plus it's a rather stiff dough to begin with. And they are infinitely better if you use European style butter (I use Strauss -- sorry, Amy!).

Local ingredients used in yesterday's batch: Strauss butter, Marin Sun Farms Eggs and Scharfen Berger semisweet chocolate.

Now I need that pie recipe:)...

Thanks for the recipe ... I didn't really get a chance to talk to you, but I loved your cookies!

Hmm Straus might be good for baking...! Sometimes I actually find my beloved Plugra is too greasy for cookies. Higher butterfat and all.

the cookies were even good on the third day! this delight is a real joy for me as I usually despise how sweet and dry oatmeal cookies are.

Awww...I'm blushing. And that doesn't happen often.

I really like the Cook's Illustrated recipe for plain old oatmeal cookies (I'm no good at thinking up baking recipes on my own, although I can follow them like a champ). I really hate overly sweet and/or cloying desserts.
