The purpose? For being AWESOME!

There must be a teenage boy standing just out of shot, plotting mayhem.

Perhaps these poeple make their living endurance testing wheelchairs. You know, like that display at Ikea where the Poang chair is continually punched with a steel rod. How else would you know which wheelchair has the best wheels for your miles of travel?

And if you were a paralympian, how would you train for 2012, hmm?

Normally I'd say that wheeling along is still good cardio and a hell of an arm workout too, but the really puzzling thing is that appears to be a motorized wheelchair. The large side wheels where you would grab on and push aren't there.

I'm stumped. I mean, it might be simply where it can be stored when not in use in a small house, but wouldn't it need to be next to the person who needs it?

My brain has stalled now.

I can't believe no one has notice it...THEIR IS A CRACKER BOX on the counter infront of the treadmill. The wheelchair is there for Grandpa to get some exercise. But he doesn't like it, so they use the cracker to bribe him. Either that, or this is my husband's idea of a perfect 20 min workout. Eatting while working out is even better than just sitting while you workout.

all the pictures are pretty depressing-from the hospital bed to the bedside commode to the wheelchair...

Yeah, sorry about that, anon. But don't worry: tomorrow morning's post is going to be SO HAPPY YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT OH THE JOY!

That's actually a home dynamometer. They're smog-testing the wheelchair.

This is not depressing at all.

You just discovered the behind the scenes set for the new OKGO video.

Haha no this is genius. If I had a treadmill, I'd definitely keep an assortment of things with wheels close by... wheelchair, skateboard, rollerblades, bike...

Traction in the bed, a commode, a wheelchair, and a layer of dust.

Obviously these people are too busy to dust because when they are not weight training in bed, the couple travels from marathon to marathon and the runner pushes the wheelchair person.

Either a test of Endurance. They want grandpa to walk but he doesn't want to so they made a wager: What will last longer the treadmill of the wheel chair? or (my more realistic answer) perhaps they are draining the battery on the wheel chair and didn't have time to drive it around or kids willing to.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
