All that for a mere $1500? I'ma buy that now! Where's my debit card?

One of the houses we wanted to look at when we were buying a home, the owner was like this and wanted to interview everyone before they could even view the house. Our realtor said forget it we'll just look somewhere else. Nothing like limiting your prospects in an already slow market. Wonder how long it'll take for that house to sell. Guess they don't realize that once they sell the house, it's not theirs anymore...
I'm assuming this is a rental rather than a sale, right? Between the $1500 and the "picky owners", it's gotta be a rental/lease. But it sure isn't clear from the listing. Also, I had to laugh: "All windows look out on the pretty backyard." Really? Even the windows on the front of the house? Even the kitchen window, which "has view of park"? Interesting. New laws of physics, I guess.

Did anyone notice the aura by the fireplace? Maybe they are referring to the ghosts that want to know who is living here....

Is it a rental instead of a property for sale, maybe? $1500 a month would seem to indicate that.
Also, it's a nice home but it's not more than nice. If it is for sale, they'd better extract their collective heads from the ...places other than their necks because they'll just be lucky to get a buyer, period.

Yup, up above I was wondering if it could be a rental -- it must be, the realtor's page even says, "Homes for sale or lease."
Thank goodness, because deciding you'll only sell to people who make lifestyle choices with which you agree is pretty obnoxious.

I hate being a nudge and ignorant, and I've googled this, but can you clue me in to the "mumble mumble mumble...glove?" reference?
I haven't heard that song in over a year. But my mom reads this blog, too, and we're both from Texas, so I know sometime tonight she's going to come sing your new version of it to me. Thanks. Thanks for that.

I don't quite get it. I live in Houston and yes, sometimes our lawns are that bright green.

Anonymous is right. Lawns in Houston can be very green, even in winter. People forget that Houston is usually wet, not dry. If you plan annual rye grass, your winter lawn may be approximately the color of the one in the photo.
Yeah, I'm from Texas, and it took me forever to figure out what was wrong in that photo. Looked normal to me!

Master bedroom is large, open and bright, overlooks backyard. Tenants must be prepared to vacate room when the league of creepy dolls hold their monthly get-togethers...

"Owners are very picky about who they put in this home." Who they put? In other words "If you are in any way not white, don't even think about it."

I do not like the song you wrote.
I like other songs.

No real "glove" reference, Anonymous, just me, sleep deprived, trying to come up with a rhyme. Oh, and I got the lines wrong anyway. It's from this:

But I prefer this version:

The listing says 'no smoking' and 'residential lease'. It's a renter.

Are you SURE this house is really in Texas? It looks kinda hobbit-y to me ...
