Glad to finally see a listing from Finland. I keep trying to send listings of unbelievably small apartments for unbelievably high rents in Helsinki, but they keep going off the market before Sara can get to them. Yes, there really is no shortage of people who are willing to pay 500 euros a month for a 15 square meter apartment in Helsinki.

Thanks for the links, Jackie! Holy crap, Helsinki is not a friend to the people of the world with claustrophobia. If I'm doing my conversion correctly that's 162 square feet (actually, a little less) and $680.00 a month to shower in a toilet!
I didn't realize that Helsinki had New York City prices, but that translates to insane cost no matter the country! That would be the same as my paying that much for the home office I'm sitting in right now...and my office is rather small. Eek.
Oh my hell, Jackie. NOW I see what Ikea is all about. I mean, I knew places that small existed, but I didn't know they were so prevalent in Scandinavia. If I had one of those places, I'd be tempted to decorate it with a large glass water bottle on the wall and lots of cedar chips on the floor.
I love it when the comments make me LOL! I'd noticed the two chairs having a 'particularly close chat', too, and loved all the comments about that and the swingset having it's way with the railing! ROFL :¬D
mudslicker said I'm guessing the fridge is located somewhere in the lower rack of the oven; and the toilet doubles as the washing machine? Hmmmm? They claim there's a fridge in the kitchen, but I can't figure out where it could be. Usually the trash can is under the sink, so it wouldn't be there. The cabinet directly above the sink usually has racks where you can put wet dishes to dry, so it wouldn't be there either. As for a washing machine, I think it's safe to say that there isn't one, nor is there anywhere to hook up your own (normally in the bathroom).

Readers will be happy to know that Sanna found Chair relaxing in Finland. Take it easy, Chair, but you might want to stay out of the sauna.

Look closer...Chair is not relaxing...he's having sex! Oh those filthy foreign listings! How about a modesty chair...for privacy or for the children!

Just tell the kids that Chair and Chair's friend are just...playing.

I'm worried about the swingset encroaching the porch trying to have "its way" with the railing.
I think Chair is not being a very good role model. Or perhaps it's because this is a European chair (we know how THEY can be).
How bout just one big modesty sofa across the whole picture, eh?

Oh, Chair! First we find you drunk and passed out on the lawn, and now outdoor fornication... tsk tsk

Surely they're just "wrestling!"

Aw, I thought they were just snuggling.

It's Finland. They're probably huddling together for warmth.

See some examples before they disappear:
16 square meters for 500 a month15 square meters for 500 a month18 square meters for 578 a month (if you look closely at the bathroom picture, you'll see that the toilet is IN the shower).

Some of these places make the buildings of Lilla Landet look absolutely HUGE!
