What is the deal with all the chairs on the walls? Did I miss a memo on the newest decorating trend?

When I lived in a studio apartment, I never ever thought of putting the chairs on the ceiling. Reminds me of Mary Poppins

What's the deal with hanging chairs on walls? I don't understand this trend at all.

Heh. Yeah, now the chairs are just messing with you, Sara.

"Pssst. Levitation, tomorrow. Craigslist, be there."

My guess on this one is that since it's a small space, they've rigged a way to hang extra chairs up on the wall out of the way, like people have those hooks to hang a bike from. I think moving them to take the picture would have been a good move, though!

Levitating chairs. Heh. :-)

Again with the decorative wall chairs? I must admit though, as someone with three obnoxious dogs, this might be a great way to eat in peace.

They are Chair's TM (transcendental meditation) practicing cousins. You know, if you meditate right you can levitate. These chairs (with a small 'c') are obviously way above us.

Oh well, a chair on the wall is worth one burning sofa in the hedgerow.

I knew someone who used to dumpster dive and changed is decorations that way..tire rim, bicycle, etc.. I sure wouldn't want to be there during an earthquake though.

I`m pretty sure those chairs are hung on the wall as decoration, as art.

I do share enough of the enthusiasm to recognize various modern classics among their chair collection (I`m sitting on an Eames chair right now), but hanging them on the wall does seem a bit precious, or pretentious.

ok, I am wiping tears from my eyes so I can type this. I am commenting here, but referring to pages and pages of entries when I say that I have been absolutely belly-laughing for the past 30 minutes here. Your comments are phenomenal, reduce me to a silent gacking laugh, throwing myself backwards against the back of the couch, holding my stomach. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. You could market this site for the weight loss fad if laughter burns as many calories as it is said to. Also market it as an anti-depressant!

Anyway, thank you for the cheering of the month.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
