Yowzers. Everything is so tan and neutral and oatmeally. In every photo. Don't people realize they can paint? Isn't that the point of homeownership?

If you take the virtual tour, you'll discover that the owner/decorator is quite a fan of pictures of women doing really boring things.

Looks to me like she's doing laundry. Some people must really, really like doing laundry.

I loved the song/video, btw. Now I'll be singing that all day.

That's like some incredible mix of Gavin Degraw, Bono, Stone Temple Pilots and Vanilla Ice ...

Maybe that is the only 'laundry room' the home has. Odd subject for a painting, a woman emptying a washer or dryer.

Tim Minchin is the BEST!! You can download a couple of his songs for free at his website!

As for the picture in the picture....weird!

I'm getting the idea that the laundromat work below the dusty fan blades is a message: "Do your laundry somewhere else--the dryer spews dust!"

Sadly, that artwork is the only interesting thing about the entire house, apart from the price. That virtual tour should be prescribed by doctors to insomniacs.

I don't understand why people take pictures from the balcony. It makes the area below look tiny.

I kinda like the pic over the fireplace, I was more intrigued by the crutches, vacuum cleaner and Christmas bedspread in the "other" room.

How hard would it have been to take the crutches and vacuum out of the shot? Unless the crutches were another piece of mundane art. To each his own. :)

This house looks pretty nice, but what's up with the welcoming guy?

Crutches, laundry, oatmeal-colored walls... clearly, this house is not a sale, it's a liberation/intervention from unfortunate accidents and boredom! Somebody buy this house and free its owner to become the "ball girl at the circus" she always wanted to be! Who knew house buying could be such a humanitarian thing??

Or maybe I'm just still coasting on "take my canvas bags, take my canvas bags..." My empowerment is transferring to this listing...

@drmk "Some people must really, really like doing laundry."

I'm one of those people. Laundry is my favorite hobby. Doing laundry has a meditative, zen-like quality for me. And in a strange way, I kind of like that painting.

What is the deal with the back of the house? That look of a ripple in a pond...is that something new?

I like the painting. Why can't artwork glorify the mundane? I am not offended by the blandness of the house. Maybe the kept is simple cause they knew they were going to sell it. I do think the sweeper and crutches are odd. How hard would it be to pick that up? Also thanks for the link to the song. I will feel like a queen next time I go to the market.

Anyone who keeps a house bland solely because they might sell it one day is...well, I'm sure there's a better word than "pathetic" for a homeowner who doesn't actually live in his home but merely occupies it, timidly terrified someone will take offense at his taste, but I'm too tired to think of it.

Also it doesn't work: buyers don't care what colour the walls are, since they'll paint them anyway.

I fail to understand the mania for neutral colours. "Horror of horrors, a bright colour! Evil! Evil! Anathema!" as they hold up crosses. Zzzzzzzzz.

This must be what the room would look like if you were a ceiling fan.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
