The listing keeps referring to the "View" as a feature. Judging from Google Maps, this deck would provide excellent views of Hansen, Idaho and surroundings, if there are any. Or maybe it was used as a sniper perch by one of those survivalist groups.
I have been laughing out loud for who knows how long. Thanks for the hilarious blog! I've learned so much. My back window repaired with sheet rock is no longer an issue for me. ;)

I know this house! I have always been so confused when I drive by at their 'deck'.
Oh look! Our very own forest fire lookout tower. T

Ha! My neighbors have a deck like that. It sort of makes sense here in blazing hot Texas. When it gets too hot in the sun, they sit in the shade underneath the elevated deck. They even have a ceiling fan.

[Image] Another disturbing find by John from Portland. "Why did they want the deck raised?" he asks. "Planning on a 2nd floor someday? Peek in the neighbor's hot tub?"
"Peek-a-boo!"

It looks like someone said "hey, I know, why simply have a car port when I can also have a deck...why waste a perfectly good flat surface?"
