Maybe they bricked over the fireplace opening because their kids were too naughty for Santa to come... I think I might try that one, or maybe just buy the house that has it done already!

I LOVE IT! It makes me think of Poe's "Cask of Amontillado". Something tells me that they weren't.

So what did they throw down behind the screen that looks a it like logs for the fire?

And why? why? why???

Sneaky ... no one will ever notice! Haha! I wonder if it was ever a fire place or they did it for "decorate" purposes. Either way, it looks very very odd.

It's just a fireplace screen with a subtle brick like pattern (about 40% transparency) on it.

They do have one legitimate fireplace. So why the need for a fake one in a different room?

They're probably just trying to jazz up the big boring useless brick wall but there's gotta be a better way to do it.

Wow! But that's not even the worst part! Another photo in the listing shows bright yellow "Caution" tape all around the house. Who would want to view a house in that condition?

I was thinking that may be the backside of the real fireplace.

This reminds me of my first house, which had an access panel in the hallway to allow one to get to the plumbing in the bathroom.

Or so I thought. Until a year or so later, when I unscrewed said access panel from said wall in order to diagnose a leak, and found out it was a fake. Just wall. No access.

The sobbing started ten minutes after the hysterical laughter subsided.

ah-hahahahahahahahaha. I had to look at that for like two minutes before I realized...there's NO FIREPLACE! Guess they're looking for someone like me to come along and buy it, huh?

The room is clearly an add-on. That's the backside of the fireplace that used to be outside.

Maybe I shouldn't admit this but my mother had an oak mantle sitting in her living room for the longest time with no fireplace. It now looks great with a ventless, but I always wondered why she left it set empty for so long.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
