I had to think about it a bit, but yeah, I do have to register a bit of annoyance. (I should say up front that I didn't submit an entry.)
I agree that the winner was the best (it was pretty close to what I was thinking, so of course it was the best!), but of the 90-some submissions, this was one of the very few that didn't follow the directions --- by not simply filling in the blank, but by inserting the word "still" in the given phrase.
If others had known that wasn't a rule, that it wouldn't disqualify them, perhaps you'd have gotten a lot more, perhaps even better, submissions.
Sorry, but I don't like seeing people who follow directions penalized.

I'll be clearer next time I do a contest that it's just me being silly, and that people should feel free to do what they need to do to make their jokes.
Oh no we would not all be happy. I am just a generally unhappy and disgruntled chair photograph commentator. I have left comments and entered chair caption contest on over 40 different blogs, wikis, and forums. I have written letters to editors and called in to radio talk shows across the nation.
The comments I make about chairs and chair photographs are funny. Not just a little funny either. Someone once compared me to the late Soupy Sales. I say funny things all the time but mostly concerning chairs and chair photography.
I follow all of the rules. All Of them! But have I ever won a contest! I have never even received a pat on the back (virtual of course). No "atta boy" or "way to go"
Oh no we would not all be happy. Some of us won't rest until our chair commentary receives the recognition it deserves.
You haven't heard the last of me. I'm just lurking waiting for my next opportunity for a chair related commentary. As "Screech" said in that episode of Saved By The Bell when he was imitating The Terminator "I'll Be Back"

Man, you guys are great. Or sick, I really can't tell the difference any more. With each entry I'd say "There's the winner! No, there!" Those chairs and their magic eye seminars, their anticipation of strippers, their drinking problems. So sad.
