I'm thinking this isn't equal opportunity.

Um. Wow. That's more than just an inappropriate picture, there.

And by "support," they mean "support at the neck only." The kind of support that kills you, if you see what I mean.

I don't get it. The seller describes the house, and then people can make political comments after that?
And is that a used noose or an unused noose?

it's looking like a brand new noose... or at least in new condition :)

New Zealand is really starting to scare me now - certainly not the place to get started in politics!

Okay, was the the SELLER talking about peeing in a cup to get welfare? Or was that a potential BUYER? Was someone sitting in the flooded house watching tv and smoking dope?

I like the photo of the cat up to his arm pits in standing water. Yeah, that sexy shot will sell that house for sure!

To the first two commenters: do you actually believe that the average New Zealander would even know that lynching was part of American discrimination against blacks, let alone that a noose could be offensive to anyone? Or are you assuming that the world revolves around the US, so your cultural touchstones should be more important to them than their own?

Because to me that's an "Um. Wow." comment. The world does not revolve around your country.

WOW! At last, a real estate agent who is honest about how bad the neighborhood is!

Bizarre listing at a minimum.

btw - what kind of animal is that walking through the water on what I assume is a driveway? Looks far too large to be a house cat.

"Friendly" Fielding...quite the misnomer. Love the pic of the cat walking through the muck.

Y'know I'd always quite fancied New Zealand as a place but now I'm just scared...

Um, Charlene, I think a noose is pretty offensive even if you've never heard of lynching black men in the American South. It's a suggestion to lynch somebody, after all. Even if it's "only" a local councilmember in New Zealand, that's pretty extremist. Don't you think? Or is threatening to murder government officials cool where you live?

I wouldn't want to raise kids there either. I guess the plus side is, if you buy it, this guy won't be there anymore.

The comments are from the seller. I gather that he's gotten an unsatisfactory response from the council to his flooding problem, and has decided to blame poor people while he's at it.

Honestly not everyone in NZ is that weird. But that is a very odd listing.

I'm having a lot of fun teasing my kiwi Sig.O. over these hilarious listings from across the Tasman this morning... heh. Of course, then you had to spoil it with these awful listings from my hometown (Everett) :D

I'm in love with the cat photo on this one, it's precious.

Anyone up for seeing the inside of the house?

That guy sounds like an intolerant arsehole. Unfortunately, that part of New Zealand is rife with them. The rest of us are alright though.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
