Okay, was the the SELLER talking about peeing in a cup to get welfare? Or was that a potential BUYER? Was someone sitting in the flooded house watching tv and smoking dope?
To the first two commenters: do you actually believe that the average New Zealander would even know that lynching was part of American discrimination against blacks, let alone that a noose could be offensive to anyone? Or are you assuming that the world revolves around the US, so your cultural touchstones should be more important to them than their own?
Because to me that's an "Um. Wow." comment. The world does not revolve around your country.
Um, Charlene, I think a noose is pretty offensive even if you've never heard of lynching black men in the American South. It's a suggestion to lynch somebody, after all. Even if it's "only" a local councilmember in New Zealand, that's pretty extremist. Don't you think? Or is threatening to murder government officials cool where you live?
I wouldn't want to raise kids there either. I guess the plus side is, if you buy it, this guy won't be there anymore.
The comments are from the seller. I gather that he's gotten an unsatisfactory response from the council to his flooding problem, and has decided to blame poor people while he's at it.

I'm having a lot of fun teasing my kiwi Sig.O. over these hilarious listings from across the Tasman this morning... heh. Of course, then you had to spoil it with these awful listings from my hometown (Everett) :D

Yes. This is from a listing. A listing found by Jayce. You are supposed to look at this photo and think "I want to buy this house! This is where I would like to raise my children!" And why not?
