I think that perhaps the former occupant of those shoes came walking in from outside and the fridge - realizing that this person was about to interfere with the photo shoot - did the only thing in its power; it threw the thoughtless person back out into the yard with an explosive opening of it's doors.

This one's Dutch, right? It's just open to indicate that it's a fridge. The usual MO there is for the refrigerator to be behind a cabinet style front panel, and it's also much bigger than the typical Dutch fridge (still smaller than most American ones), so it's trying to showcase that. If it were closed you wouldn't even know it wasn't just another cabinet.

True, anon, but why didn't they move the shoes before taking the picture?

Does the invisible man eat invisible food? That would be the only way you could rightfully argue his presence in this picture. However, that also provides this picture with proper evidence to favor in the invisible man argument.

Maybe it is a way to entice parents to buy the house, especially a hardworking SAHM.

"Get your snack and GO OUTSIDE to eat." "Dang kids, so tired of cleaning the floors of mud and crumbs."

it's basically a mini fridge stuffed in a cupboard masquerading as a fancier, real fridge. Probably an upgrade too... reminds me of when i was looking at some lofts with that same "new concept, modern" design. modern is cool, don't get me wrong.. that fridge would only hold food for maybe two people, max.

I live in Purmerend myself, actually. I was just thinking it's probably a new house (lots of new houses being built). Why they didn't move the sandals, I'll never know.

It's quite common (at least with IKEA kitchens) to have a cupboard door so that the fridge "blends" in with the rest of the kitchen.

Also, I love how you guys think the fridge would only fit food for two. We have a smaller fridge then that (only by a little) and it can hold enough food cold for 4/5 people for a weekend. Most of the time it's pretty empty, but it's more than enough space for food for me and my partner for 5 days. We do have a seperate freezer though.

Let's not speculate about the race, class, or parenting skills of the people who live in these houses. We judge them on the photos they pick, not on who they are as people (unless we really can't help it).
