My house looked something like this when I moved in, especially the interesting chandeliers and the strange arrangement of furniture and appliances. And yes, the furniture was still there when I moved in. The previous owners were under the impression that they could just come and move it out a week or so after the closing. I did manage to sell one of the chandeliers on Ebay. So, there's hope for anyone really interested in this house.
I don't even know where to begin. I love the giant Pope picture, the garage (?), and the ultra classy cat face pillow. If I bought this house I would HOPE they would leave some of those gems.
This is definitely your grandfather's house. Only 50+ years of "collecting" could land you with this much crap. Plus, grandpa's eyesight's been getting worse for a long time, because otherwise all those clashing patterns would have given him a seizure. And judging by all the tchatkas on the stove, grandma never did like to cook.

I really wish people would learn to appreciate those Art Deco bathrooms. To be honest, it's really in great condition. It doesn't look anymore dated now that the new owner's "updates" will in 20 years. When that house was built, that bathroom was really hip.
I love these old homes, with so much more character than the cookie cutter McMansions in suburbs today with their contractor grade fixtures and paper thin walls.
I must admit that my bathroom looks like that... 1962 original light pink tile throughout... never been redone, ha! Actually theirs look better. Once you take out the gold trim in the "kitchen" and the green curtains, and whatever that carpet color is, it will be just fine! Really, 500K, what's the big deal?
LOL, I really did get stuck on the geriatric equipment in the bathroom...I didn't even notice this lovely, um, kitchen? Cook-in dining room? I'm not sure....
