although this picture is awful, I can't believe you chose it over so many of the others. there's the blurry one (which does not improve the nauseating wallpaper) followed by the not blurry one, in which you can see the chair that is as ugly as the rest of the room. And then, all the basement shots? Those are hilarious. I especially like that the pain matches the W/D and that the foundation appears to slope badly in one room.
of course, for that price you couldn't buy anything at all in the PNW, so who's to complain.
I think it's genius, but a bit too chaotic. If money was no barrier, you could do it all again in Cath Kidston prints and real white picket fences, and then you'd probably get Homes and Gardens round telling the world about your unique style...
I'd like to say that was old fashioned charm, but my MIL made a quilt for us two years ago out of the Lizard fabric and she always buys stuff new. I thought it was atrocious until we had a baby. Now it is great for taking to the park. Definitely not for the walls tho...

A house where people live perfectly normal lives, where they eat and sleep and read books and pay bills, all the time surrounded by walls with lizards and horses and dinosaurs and Bible scenes and I don't know what else.

The entire house has a common theme: nausea. I particularly like how pictures 3 and 4 are basically the same, except one is in focus.

I used to live in Boone, Iowa. We also paid $39,000 for the house we owned there, too.
Not too many places where you can get a cute house in a safe neighborhood for that price!
I hope this "fixer upper" gets fixed up and that someone will live happily ever after there.

I love that this house is described as "country like". It's so ugly they can't even call it country.
It's a nice bonus that you have a spare turquoise window from (or 20) in case something happens in the basement.

Wallpaper sample books. You can wallpaper an entire house if you get your local paint store to give you their discontinued wallpaper sample books.
