Zechariah continues to thrive. He even likes to test boundaries now and
managed to give our new nanny a hard time on her first day. Ha!
Last week, we had a most precious exchange that I
never want to forget. I got home from
work and started cooking dinner, as I typically do. Seth and Leah were upstairs in Lego world,
and shortly after I started cooking, Zechariah joined me in the kitchen. As I stood by the stove, I noticed him
getting closer and closer to me.
Eventually, he was hanging onto my legs while I stood cooking.
I turned around and lifted his {still tiny} body up
and hugged him. Zechariah promptly said,
“Never let go.”
I quickly turned off the stove and held him a little
tighter.
“I will never, ever let you go, Zechariah. You are my boy forever and ever. I love you soooo much.”
I could feel his body relax into my words as he
cling even tighter to my neck. We stood
there in silence for five minutes or more while I rubbed his back and kissed
his cheek. Precious son of mine….
It was just a year ago next week when I heard Jesus
whisper that this one would be my son.
How truly right He was.
