For a few months now, I have affectionately referred to my dear children as Mutt and Jeff.  Yes, affectionately.  And this name is well earned.  My parents were visiting last weekend and got to witness the mayhem themselves.  For example.....

Mom, Dad and I were sitting in the living room at one point and the kids were playing.  Seth and Leah walked from the living room into the dining room where we couldn't see them.  They were gone 30 seconds.  Maybe.  The next thing I heard was my chandelier.  Huh?  Mom and I jumped up in time to see BOTH Seth ands Leah, standing tall on the dining room table.  Um, no.  That's not going to work.  And, yes, Leah was there too.  Even though she's a tiny little thing, she can sure do some climbing!

Later, mom and I were cleaning up dinner and the kids were playing.  I didn't pay attention to what Seth was doing, but he was busy.  It soon became clear.  He took Maggie's food bowl and dumped the left over dinner water in her bowl.  Then he got a bowl from the play kitchen and dumped some of the water from Maggie's bowl into the play bowl.  Once he was done with this (and very proud of himself) Seth and Leah laid flat on the ground and lapped up water out of their bowls like a dog.  Nice.  I rolled my eyes; mom laughed, and we told them that we weren't going to drink that way.

Last, the kids were playing under my covers one evening while Eveline was cooking.  I was upstairs with them until I ran down to grab something.  Upon my return, I heard Seth saying, "One more for Leah Grace and one for Seth!"  What was he doing?  Handing out my synthroid (for hypothyroid) to each of them.  Oh. My. Goodness.  I grabbed the bottle, counted pills, checked their mouths, and breathed a sigh of relief that Seth had his precious gum to keep him from taking in anything else.  Crisis averted.  (Barely)

These situations are funny to me because no one has gotten hurt.  But really.  People.  These two need to sit down!  Seth was never ornery like this until Leah arrived.  And Leah is a little enabler, lifting Seth up onto the cupboard (not.even.kidding.) and cheering him on.  Oh brother.  And they look like such sweet angels....  :)
