Becoming an eagle scout is the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America program and takes years to achieve. The pinnacle achievement is an Eagle scout project which requires the scout to organize and execute a significant community service project. The project demands the scout to exhibit leadership skills by finding a project, seeking formal approval and funding for it, organizing a team and completing it.
Michael secured a project to build an 18th century kitchen table and bench. It will go in the Lanesville house, a historic 18th century house located in Claude Moore park in Loudoun County, VA. The Lanesville house hosts thousands of elementary school students each year for an open house. It is a demanding project and he has had to recruit furniture experts and wood working folks as well as research how a table was constructed in 1779. He needs $600 in total funds to complete this project.
Christopher has a project where he will solicit donations of toys and supplies for a homeless shelter and then build shelves in their shed to store and organize them. This project has helped him realize the impact one can have to help those that are less fortunate. Any clothing or toy donations are welcome.
If you can help out, please let me know. Michael needs cash donations ($5, $10, $20, $50...whatever you can afford) and Christopher is in need of clothing or toy donations.
You can donate financially via my PayPal account (my gmail email) or send us a check. Just email me and we can work out the arrangements.
Or you can just send along a word of encouragement.
