I'm astounded that people who ride carbon mountain bikes are surprised when they break. It's certainly not Scott's fault if the material performed as expected.

It is Scott's fault for selling a CF mtn bike if they know that the material can't take the abuse.

Jeff, this is not a personal question, just trying to figure out what it takes to break a carbon Scott frame. How much do you weigh, what were you doin when it broke?
I have the 2011 Scale 29 frame on order which is the 29er version of your bike. This picture made me sick.

Me too. Broke Scott Scale Pro at the SDS flex point on seat stay. Less than 1000 miles, no crashes. Maybe a flying rock. Not covered by Scott. Willing to give me a 'discount' on replacement but don't know the price and not sure I am interested. Infuriating.

[Image] From Jeff:Here is a Scott Scale Limited with this fracture, the frame simple broke in normal use. Sent to the store to evaluation, they refuse warranty just saying that the case was a "chain suck" and the rear derailleur shocked with the stay... no drop out broken, the owner just can not believe with the answer by the Scott!!What happened to bike companies standing behind their product?

Any company that refuses to honor a warranty claim - should NOT be in business.
Thanks, SCOTT...for making yourself a brand I'll NEVER buy.
BTW - chainsuck NEVER goes that far back. Freaking Swiss....
