Janet Frohnmayer, who recently won election to the Mercer Island School Board, has a blog.  "Bookworm - Big Ideas for Busy People" is where she summarizes the interesting books and ideas she's read, including: The Overachievers, by Alexandra Robbins The Role of Parents in Athletics, by Bruce Brown The Homework Myth, by Alfie Kohn lots about Mel Levine (who I've written about as well) and more, mostly focused on education-related topics. All her summaries are very worth reading.  The only problem with the site is that she doesn't post enough!
