Dr. Seligman's book is a good introduction to positive psychology. If it interests you in the field, I'd suggest Jon Haidt's The Happiness Hypothesis at the individual level and Making the Impossible Possible: Leading Extraordinary Performance: The Rocky Flats Story by Kim Cameron and Marc Lavine as an introduction to the positive organizational studies.

Re: The Purpose-Driven Life, note that this book suffers from a circularity flaw: it says your purpose is to find your purpose. (It also assumes the existence of Imaginary Beings.) Furthermore, it doesn't deal with the nasty problem of what to do if you spend a lot of time working towards something you thought was your purpose but turns out not to be!
