It is cathartic to write your thoughts sometimes. And you and Andrea will be glad you did someday when you reflect on this day. You make plans for all kinds of situations, and when they actually occur, it's different than you expected. I believe your decisions with the children were right for that situation. You and Andrea were tuned in to their emotions as well as your own, and your explanations were what they needed. There will be more questions. I'm glad you both listen to Connor and Paige and keep those communication channels open.
I hardly knew Garry - we only met him a very few times and he was mostly quiet during those times. But my impression was that he was a gentleman, quiet, with a subtle sense of humor - and he was a teacher. That automatically elevated him far beyond average in my book - and he taught music - one of my favorites. From what I heard, he was well loved by his students and worked tirelessly educate and instill a love of music. He will be missed. I wish I had known him better.
