[Image] After dropping the kids off at Camp Pinnacle, Andrea and I checked in at the Ritz at Lake Oconee. We loved the resort, it was by a lake and there was a cute little beach area with inflatables, an infinity pool, kayak and standup paddleboards, and all kinds of trails in the area. I worked during the day and we enjoyed exploring the area and trying out a few of the restaurants. Unfortunately, we tried to go out to eat on one of the nights and all of the restaurants nearby were either full, or required a membership, so we ended up just eating s'mores instead. [Image] [Image] [Image]Andrea and I tried out standup paddleboards for the first time. At first we weren't sure if we would be able to stand up, so we took a couple pics near each other on our knees. We eventually built up our courage for a photo op and then set off across the lake. We mostly stuck to shore at first and went down a little cove near the resort. It was slow going and at one point a boat kicked up a tiny bit of wake that turned out to be just enough to make us lose our balance. Andrea dropped to her knees and then I had my head turned to look at her and completely lost my balance and ended up in the water. That was the only time I fell in, otherwise did fairly well, but it was surprisingly more difficult to stay balanced and upright than I expected.[Image] [Image] [Image]After making our way back to the resort, I decided I wanted to go across the lake and back. Andrea snapped a pic of me returning. [Image] [Image] [Image] [Image] We spent most of our time relaxing, hiking around the trails, and Andrea spent quite a bit of time at the pool. The service was wonderful and all of the staff were super friendly. We loved it, definitely plan to go back some day.
